Not on Google Play yet. PollGuard Mobile is distributed directly while the app is in pilot, so you install it from this page rather than the Play Store. That means one extra step — and one extra safeguard: the checksum below lets you confirm the file you downloaded is the file we published.

Android will ask for permission before installing an app from outside the Play Store. That prompt is normal — here is exactly what you'll see.
Download the file
Tap the download button on this page from your phone, or scan the QR code. The file lands in your Downloads folder.
Allow this install
Open the file. Android will warn that this source isn't allowed yet — tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, then go back.
Open and sign in
Install, open PollGuard, and sign in with the email and password you registered with — or register from the app if your organisation invited you.

iPhone
There is no iOS build yet. The app is written to run on both, but we won't publish an iPhone version until the verification steps work as reliably there as they do on Android. Leave your email and you'll hear from us the day it's ready — nothing else.

Is it safe to install an app from outside the Play Store?
It is, provided you know the file is genuine — which is why we publish the SHA-256 checksum at the top of this page and sign every build with the same release key. On a computer you can run sha256sum pollguard-v2.4.1.apk and compare. If the values don't match, delete the file and tell us.
Why isn't PollGuard on Google Play?
It will be. During the pilot we ship fixes to pilot organisations faster than store review allows, and direct distribution lets us keep each institution on a known build. When the app leaves pilot, the Play listing becomes the primary route and this page stays as the fallback.
Will it update itself?
Not silently. The app checks for a newer version on launch and tells you when one exists, with the release notes. If a version is too old to be trusted in an election, the app will say so and ask you to update before you can vote.
My organisation hasn't invited me — can I still use it?
You can install and register, but elections only appear once your organisation has enrolled you as a member and an administrator has approved your verification. If you're expecting an election and see nothing, contact your organisation's electoral office.
What does the app collect?
What verification needs and nothing beyond it: your identity document images, a selfie, liveness evidence, and the device key that signs your ballot. Location is recorded at registration where your organisation requires it. Our data protection notice sets out retention and how to request deletion.
