Cookies & browser storage
Short version: we store what is needed to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We run no advertising or analytics trackers.
No tracking
PollGuard does not load third-party analytics, advertising or social media tracking scripts. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no cross-site profiling. We do not sell or share browsing data, and there is nothing here to opt out of because we do not do it.
What we store, and why
- Session (essential). A refresh token is kept in your browser so you stay signed in between visits and your session can be renewed securely. Your short-lived access token is held in memory only and is never written to storage — this deliberately limits the damage a cross-site scripting attack could do. Cleared when you sign out.
- Preferences (functional). Your interface theme, so the product looks the way you left it.
- Verification progress (functional). During identity verification, a capture in progress and your profile photo may be held temporarily so an interrupted check can resume instead of restarting. Cleared once verification completes.
These are set by PollGuard only. None of them are used for advertising or shared with a third party for their own purposes.
Managing it
You can clear this storage at any time through your browser settings, and signing out clears your session. Clearing essential storage will sign you out and may interrupt a verification in progress, but nothing is lost permanently — you can sign in and resume.
